Services We Offer

Manuscript Critique & Content Review

Fresh, knowledgeable eyes matter.  We review your manuscript for clarity, flow, consistency, and overall readability, giving you honest, actionable feedback before you publish.

Cover & Book Formatting and Guidance

Your cover is the first conversation your book has with a reader.  We help you make it count with guidance on design direction, title placement, word choice, and formatting requirements for your chosen platform(s). We also work with a number of partners that help you get it just right.

Publishing Under the Last Bite Publishing Imprint

Publish your work under the Last Bite Publishing name and ISBN, adding credibility and professional identity to your title.  This option includes guided support through the publishing process, help with copyright submission, the right to use the ISBN and Last Bite Publishing on a 5-year renewable cycle, and a dedicated listing on the Last Bite Publishing website.

Launch & Marketing Support

Getting published is step one.  Getting read is step two.  We help you build a simple, realistic launch plan using social media, timing, platform strategy, and how to ask for reviews.

Prefer to Do It Yourself? Use Our Self-Publishing Guide

Some folks like figuring it out on their own.  If that's you, you can do it solo without doing it alone.  Our downloadable Self-Publishing Guide walks you through the entire process from first draft to final launch.  Available here on Etsy.

The Process + Considerations

First Call: Discuss Your Wants

First Call: Discuss Your Wants

Every writer is different, and every project is different.

In our first 1-1, we take 30-minutes to discuss what it is you want from this partnership:

Set you up to do it yourself?

Help with co-authoring and write it with you?

Help you with layout and editing?

Help with ISBNs / self-publishing platforms?

Help with post-publishing marketing?

Let's talk through what you're thinking.

Next: Define and Approve Work

First Call: Discuss Your Wants

Once we have your high level want understood, Last Bite Publishing and About Stephanie LLC put together a proposal for what the work will entail.

We'll go through it together, understand what work is done by you and what work is done by us.  Once the work agreement is finalized and approved, we begin!

Then: Execute

We work with you in partnership per the agreement.

We often continue helping clients after the initial work is complete as they value the services we provide and often think of us to help them set up future projects or add-ons (think cards, stationary, etc).

Consider: Is the Work Complete and How Much Do You Want to Do Yourself?

Writing & layout take the longest (illustrations included if you're doing a kid's book)

Unless the above is already completed, we encourage editing throughout the process so you minimize rework.

Consider: Logistics like Layout, Onboarding to Platforms, Additional Printing, and ISBNs

Setting up your Self-publishing platform accounts and getting your ISBN and onto your cover is a small effort.

Some people want large quantities for themselves to sell, a printer connection helps.

Copyright submission is simple, but completion can take a while due to their timeline.

Consider: Pre- and Post-Publication Marketing and Outreach

Marketing should start before the book goes live and hit heavily for the first 2 months after.  Then, it's about consistency.
